Some places bring people together.

On the shores of Lake Malawi, Red Zebra Lodge has long been a place for gathering. For conversations that turn into ideas, celebrations that bring families together and afternoons best spent in the gardens overlooking the lake.

Just two hours from Lilongwe, our family-owned lodge welcomes conferences, weddings and guests looking for a little time away.

We usually reply within the hour.

A different setting for a productive day.

There's a reason so many of our conference guests return.

Away from the pace of Lilongwe, Red Zebra offers the space to focus, exchange ideas and enjoy a change of scenery. Our three conference rooms welcome groups of different sizes, with freshly prepared meals, attentive service and the gardens of Lake Malawi just outside.

From morning tea to a lakeside buffet lunch, we take care of the details so your team can make the most of its time together.

Come hungry. Stay a little longer.

Food has always been part of the Red Zebra experience. From generous conference lunches to freshly prepared fish from Lake Malawi, our kitchen brings people together around the table, overlooking the gardens where palm trees, mango trees and the sounds of the lake make it easy to forget the time.

And when chambo is on the menu, there's another family story to tell. Our fish comes from Lake Malawi Aquaculture, founded by our brother David Nkhwazi, just a few kilometres from the lodge.

Our roots run a little deeper.

Long before Red Zebra welcomed conferences and weddings, our family's story at Kambiri Point began with the extraordinary fish of Lake Malawi.

In 1973, Stuart M. Grant began collecting and exporting the lake's cichlids, building a business that would become known to aquarium enthusiasts around the world. Two species would eventually carry the names of Stuart and his wife, Esther. One of them, the red zebra cichlid, would lend its name to the lodge.

More than five decades later, the lake remains at the heart of our family's story.
